Homespun Hearts Soap & Candles

Tamara is the owner of Homespun Hearts Homemade Country Soap and Grubbie Candles.
She lives on a hobby farm in Minnesota surrounded by trees and along the St. Croix River, and the soaps
are made right there in her soap shoppe. Her homemade soaps contain whole milk, herbs grown right in her
gardens and all natural oils... pure and natural soap from nature's goodness, appealing to the nature
lover in all of us.
Tamara sent me some wonderful products to try, and I am so loving them!!
I recieved an 8 oz jar candle in carrot cake, and wow.. makes me think I am back in Grandmas kitchen on a nice
fall evening. This candle is burning very nice, and putting off a nice aroma that has filled my kitchen/dining
room area.
I also got a blueberry muffin grubby candles, which I just can't burn.. yet! LOL! It is so cute, and I am a
sucker for cute things. But, not only is is cute, it smells amazing and it is still in the wrapper! That is a
huge deal to me! Cold scent throw is hard to achieve, and I know because I am a candle maker!!
I also got two cinnamon bun scented tarts, that also have an amazing cold scent throw, but to be even
better..the hot throw knocks your socks off!! YUMMY!! Makes me drool as I am a huge cinnabun scent fan!
She also sent me a huge bar of gardeners soap. This bar is amazing!! And huge!! I was thrilled to try this, as
I am a gardener and after spending 8 hours yesterday planting my garden, dirty hands to the sink I went and
scrubbed up with this soap.. yup.. I found a new love!! hehe...
I am very happy with everything from Tamara, the packaging, the sizes, smells, quality and after reviewing her
site am happy to say her prices are great as well!!
Take some time and visit her website...you will for sure not come away empty handed!

Some interesting faq's about Homespun Hearts County Soaps & Candles.
Q: How & when did you get started in the business?
I've been making homemade soaps for years, that's all my family uses. I started learning how to make soap when
my son was having problems with store-bought soap, it would irritate his skin. My first soap was Oatmeal Milk
and Honey and I still make it. :)
Q: What made you decide to have a website?
I make it and give it away to friends and family. I did have a booth in a local Crafters Mall and did well
there, but 3 years ago we moved out here and it's just too far to drive to stock it. So with the encouragement
of my family, I built my website.
Q: How do you market your business and website?
I spend hours and hours online everyday exchanging banners, surfing in Traffic Exchanges, joining topsites and
groups, and meeting people. I have a new contest page where I'm giving away a Grubbie Chubbie. I'd like to
invite everyone to go enter at our ~ Contest Page I also set up a Plugboard and
Banner Exchange on my site and like to exchange banners with members, feel free to go to my site and add your
site. I'm also having a Blog built and I have a Twitter page. I love to be online also, so to me, it's alot of
work but alot of fun too. I also started a Top 100 Craft Site that i'd like to invite you to join: Click here to join.
Q: What motivates you?
Watching my husband work 10 hours a day everyday to earn a living for us is what motivates me. I would like to
earn enough money to help him financially so he can take time off.
Q: Which items are your best sellers and why?
My Grubbie Candles are really good sellers. I personally love grubbies and i'm really picky about them. LOL
They have to be really grubbied up and have a super strong scent. I love bakery scented candles and I have a
blast making them. I have very regular customers of my lotions and my customers swear it took away their dry
skin and won't use any other lotion. I have one customer, a man who shaves his head and uses my lotion daily,
and he actually hides the lotion from his family cuz it's "HIS". LOL My soaps are always good sellers and I
have people buy a dozen at a time to have on hand. The oatmeal based ones are the most popular, very good for
your skin.
Q: Which items do you enjoy making?
Honestly, i truely enjoying making all the products that I make. There have been times over the years that I
tried new things and didn't like making them, so I just take it out of my product line then.
Q: Tell us about you, and give us any other info you want us to know.
I live in a small town on the St. Croix River in eastern Minnesota. We have a 5 acre hobby farm surrounded by
woods. I've been married to a great guy for 23 years and we have 4 kids (22, 20, 19, 18) and my two oldest just
moved back home last weekend, so i have all 4 of them here again. I love to garden and spend alot of time in my
gardens in the warm months...i have a vege garden, tons of flower gardens and a large herb garden. The herbs in
my soaps are right out of my garden. I also have a yellow lab who is my shadow named Ayla and 9 chickens that
are all colored egg layers.
